I’ll see pretty much anything that Guy Ritchie directs, so I thought the King Arthur: Legend of the Sword trailer looked awesome. The trailers for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them keep getting better and better, and Eddie Redmayne was all kinds of adorable during his panel. I know literally nothing about Captain Marvel, but I think Brie Larson will be awesome, and even though it wasn’t released the buzz on the Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 footage has been great.
But the most pleasant surprise for me at this year’s San Diego Comic Con were the trailers for the upcoming DCEU movies. I’m actually excited for a few of them, which is new for me.
I’ve been more of a Marvel girl thus far, and I think the only DC movie I’ve actually seen so far is Man of Steel, which apparently everyone hated but I thought was perfectly fine. I was going to go see Batman v Superman in the theater and then never got around to it, but I’ll watch it now that it’s available on DVD. I suspect that my feelings on that one will be somewhat similar. I’m just not that picky. I have absolutely no desire to see Suicide Squad though. Nothing against it, I’m sure a lot of people are going to love it, and if I hear enough good things I may check it out eventually. So far though, everything I’ve seen for it just hasn’t appealed to me.
But…
Wonder Woman. Justice League. I want to see you.
The WWI era is one of my favorites, and it’s one that hasn’t been explored in these movies before. It’s my dream to one day be able to wear one of these hats with a big bow on it. Maybe a feather too.
Fab.
Plus, she’s going to kick so much ass. Getting right out there on the battlefield and tearing it up. I didn’t know how interested I was going to be in this movie when it was first announced, not being a comic fan. Well, now I know. Very.
I also loved the trailer for Justice League. It had a super fun vibe, and gave us a first look at the members of the team that we haven’t met yet.
For me, Aquaman was the biggest deal here. Mostly because I’ve only really ever heard Aquaman being joked about.
Who’s laughing now? I knew that Jason Momoa had been cast, and I’d seen this picture:
It’s sometimes hard to tell though what the tone of a movie is going to be like just from one image, so I still had no idea what to expect. I always remembered Aquaman looking like this
and not this
Well played DC. I’ll be there.
What was your favorite trailer to come out of Comic Con?
