1. The Internet
The Sit-In’s number 1 Bae was most definitely the internet, between the trending topics and the amazing replies to Speaker Ryan and the House GOP, the internetz were functioning at full capacity. Not to mention the Internet is the reason C-Span and the House even got their message outside of the walls of their camera-less building. Hearing old dudes talk about Periscope, Twitter and Facebook Live from the floor of the House was both hilarious in an old-people-talking-about-the-internet way and because, YEA welcome to 2016, this is how we connect and spread news.
2. Beto O’Rourke & Scott Peters
C-SPAN has no control over the U.S. House TV cameras. Now showing a @facebook live from @repbetoorourke. pic.twitter.com/37syjiFNdf

Clearly, Beto O’Rourke and Scott Peters have kids who use Periscope and other live streaming apps because the only reason the American people were able to see what was happening inside the House was because Beto and Peter live streamed the proceedings after Speaker Ryan pulled the plug on the cameras that C-Span broadcasts. If they haven’t already, Mophie needs to send some free product over to the Congressmen’s offices. Thanks guys!
3. John Lewis
We have to ask who we are as a people. Are we a people of progress or a people of inaction? #holdthefloor pic.twitter.com/I8IxD81FGb

John Lewis is the only civil rights leader of “The Big Six” from the 60s who is still alive. Congressman Lewis marches with MLK at Selma, launched the Mississippi Freedom Summer and organized countless sit-ins and other non violent protests AND he just so happens to be a congressman. Who better to lead the Sit-In than John Lewis? No one.
4. C-Span
C-SPAN has no control over the U.S. House TV cameras.

Talk about the Sit-In’s 6th Man award winner! When faced with their cameras being turned off by Speaker Paul Ryan, they rolled with the punches and started broadcasting on national TV the live Periscope and Facebook Live feeds from Senators. Talk about non HD resolution! C-Span was so inundated by viewers complaining about their lack of live feed they had to both Tweet and put up a chyron that said “Alert: Cameras in Chambers Controlled By House.” AKA “It’s not us, it’s them!”
5. The Visiting Senate Democrats
Massachusetts knows: America — and #NoBillNoBreak — runs on @DunkinDonuts. #birthdaydonuts #holdthefloor pic.twitter.com/XG1wzU5q41
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) June 23, 2016
The Senators must have seen the Filibuster/National News signal shining in the DC sky because they were over to the House to support their fellow Lawmakers tout sweet! From Richard Blumenthal who helped start last week’s Senate Filibuster to Elizabeth Warren who came with donuts and selfie stick (more reasons I love her) to Bernie Sanders fresh off the campaign trail (crying emoji).
Again, this is in jest to call Congresspeople BAEs but if I’m posting two Thursdays in a row about our lawmakers (half of them) TRYING to bring about common sense changes to our gun laws, it must be a big deal. Whether you agree on the proposed bills, I think we can agree that both sides need to come together to work laws that a majority of Americans are ASKING, no BEGGING for.
#RememberinNovember yall!
Did you watch the House Sit-In? What BAEs did we miss?
