Emma Roberts plays, Vee a mildly depressed high school senior (seriously aren’t they all though?) who gets nagged by her friends into playing Nerve, a game of all dares and no truths, but not as a Watcher, as a Player.
A Watcher is someone pulling the puppet strings of the Player. A Player is the poor bastard doing everything the Watchers say, HOWEVER, Players get money for completing the Watcher’s demands. After being told to kiss a stranger, Vee chooses Ian (played by Dave Franco, good job Vee) and thus sets off what looks to be an insane night of dares and close calls. Until shit starts to get serious.
Imagine this: one minute you’re trying on super expensive outfits and the next all your clothes, money, and i.d.’s have been stolen.
Oh and all that money you made by being a player is gone if you don’t complete the game. You could walk away from that right? I could. But oh wait, all of your parents money is now gone too. So is your identity. I’d do pretty much anything to not have to tell my parents I’m the reason they lost everything, so I can only imagine Vee’s plan.
This soon to be released movie is coming to theaters in July 2016. Need to get your Nerve fix now? You can read the book first and be super smug in the popcorn line!
BTW, Samira Wiley and Kimiko Glenn are in this movie as well. Don’t recognize their names? Well, then I guess you don’t wear orange on Wednesdays.
Nerve is in theaters July 27th, 2016
