The movie stars Asa Butterfield as the first human ever to be born on Mars and Britt Robertson, a tough earthling who develops an online friendship with Garner (Butterfield’s character). After months of waiting we finally have a really good trailer that gives us a really comprehensive glimpse of the arc of the film. I am honestly a little surprised by how much the trailer spoils but it is exciting to see moments in the trailer that I saw being filmed while in New Mexico.
I don’t know about you but I am getting a John Green’s Paper Towns meets Matt Damon’s The Martian vibe from this trailer. While on set, we were able to chat with the director and producer of the film. Their enthusiasm for the story was so contagious especially when talking about how much more realistic Mars travel is becoming every day. They gave us some details on how they filmed the NASA and Mars scenes so its great to see how amazing it looks in the trailer. I am excited to see the final product when it’s in theaters this August 19th.
What did you think of the trailer? Are you excited to see The Space Between Us? Let us know in the comments.
