I read The Selection (the first installment in Kiera Cass’ Selection series) just after it came out in 2012. And I’ve read each of the following titles in the series on its release day. So on May 3 (tomorrow), I–along with thousands of teenage fangirls–will be reading The Crown. And I can’t wait.

For those of you who have no idea what this series is–it’s cotton candy fun. The first three books follow America Singer as she competes in The Selection, a competition in which 35 girls are selected to compete in a part reality show/part dating game. The prize? Marriage to the prince.

The fourth book follows Maxon’s daughter, Crown Princess Eadlyn, who VERY RELUCTANTLY agrees to a selection of her own…as a way to distract the country from growing unrest. The sassy pants diva princess plans to run off her suitors, but she finds having 35 boys in her palace more interesting than she expected.

Book 4, The Heir, has been my favorite of the series so far. (Except for that evil cliffhanger of an ending.) There were just so many great moments. More cute guys. Asparagus. A great make-out scene (or two). So many cute guys. Other things:

Did America DIE? (You wouldn’t really do that Kiera, right? Her heart attack is just going to make Maxon retire and Eadlyn take the throne, RIGHT???)

Who will Eadlyn pick? (Eikko! Eikko! Eikko!)*
Will Aspen and Lucy become parents?
What is UP with Ean? Is he some sort of plant to prove Eadlyn’s heartlessness?
Will we have another group date with great moments (butter jokes and boys punching each other over asparagus v2.0)?
Is Neena a spy of sorts?
Is Lady Brice Manor secretly someone we know from books 1-3?
Can we get an epilogue where Henri is the castle pastry chef, Kile’s the Illean Chief Architect, Ahren and Cecile have beautiful French babies, and Eadlyn and Eikko have become a perfect queen and prince regent?
Will there be a recipe section with directions to make all of Henri’s desserts? Please?
I know it’s supposed to be the last book, but Kiera, are you SURE you don’t want to write another about Eadlyn’s future kids???

*Note: My vote is for Eikko (Erik), but I trust Kiera. If it ends up being Kile, or Hale, or Henri, I’m sure I’ll be fine with it. But as of the end of book 4, I like Eikko best.
