Outlander won’t be at San Diego Comic Con
Diana Gabaldon spilled the beans about Outlander at SDCC on Compuserve:

WHY WON’T OUTLANDER BE AT SDCC? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Calm down ladies, we know exactly what Outlander’s absence from SDCC means. It’s obvious one of the following:
- No Season 3: There won’t be a season 3 of the most popular Starz show to date
- Logistics Starz wasn’t able to score any hotel rooms during Hotelpocalypse. (FYI, STARZ: IN CASE YOU WANNA BRING STANLEY WEBER OR TOBIAS, WE GOT A PULL OUT COUCH)
- Scheduling Conflict: There’s a scheduling conflict because that’s the same weekend as SamCait’s wedding/birth of their child/secret anniversary. Obviously
- Security issues: We heard Tobias’ earring can’t get through TSA security checks.
- The show is being reworked and will be told from Le Comte’s point of view – all voice overs will now be done in French with a side serving of distain for everyone (with plenty of M/M scenes with Jamie, who he clearly lusts for.) It will be rebranded as Le Comte and JAMMF – the REAL Outlander love story. #LeJAMMF.
- It’s a major surprise Season 3 is so super secret that they are pretending the show is cancelled until it magically shows up Christmas 2017 on it’s new channel- the Hallmark Channel- as a bonus to the popular Holiday movie “A Princess for Christmas“
- Cait is leaving the show and marrying her long time boyfriend. And having a real baby.
- No more Jamie and Claire Ron kills them off at the end of Season 2. Bitter cascara accident.
- Restraining Orders: There are 3 against That’s Normal- from Sam, Tobias and now Stanley. Whoops. Our bad
WHAT DO WE DO AT SDCC NOW?
We know what you’re thinking- everything is falling apart and the 12 hours you spent so far securing SDCC passes, waiting in HotelPocolypse, figuring out your housing plans after not getting a hotel and the hours spent pefecting your Claire-Jamie Cosplay were in vein.
What are you going to do NOW at Comic Con? Sit in a Marvel panel? HAHAHA Wait in line for Hall H “Just because?” LOL GOOD ONE Actually walk the floor and stop by something other than the Starz and Random House booths? THERE ARE OTHER BOOTHS?
There go your plans for a baby bump Claire Cosplay. Oh well, you can probably use it at the Gaitlinburg, TN meet up later this year. And those swan nipples you’ve been perfecting the ceramic cast for diligently every evening? Save those for your mister- he’ll appreciate them more than the 200,000 people at SDCC anyway.
Well, actually….
It’s not that surprising in the least that Outlander wont’ be at SDCC. It’s expensive. The show will not be airing by late July. And there will be nothing new to show from Season 3. It costs a lot to fly people (who might be filming at that time) all the way from Scotland.
We fully expect a well-planned announcement of Season 3 sometime between now and when Season 3 airs. And as for what we’ll be doing at SDCC now that Outlander won’t be there?
