Juliette and Avery
Dear ABC if you love us, you will bring Juliette and Avery back together and give us a few episodes (you owe us!) of sweet, sweet #Javery fluff. After, literally only a few seconds of wedded bliss, the Nashville writers split up Avery and Juliette and put us through episodes and episodes of #SadAvery and downward spiral Juliette. Granted, we know Hayden Paniettere took some time off to work on her own bout of Post Partum Depression but we can only hope that Nashville will give us back one of the best couples on the show.
Lennon and Maisy
Besides being great actors because they remind us why pre-teens and teens are THE WORST, Lennon and Maizy are one of the best reasons to watch Nashville. Their musical numbers are some of the best and well, they seem just as sweet as pie. Only time will tell whether they can shake off their Julie Taylor-esque teen attitudes or descend into annoying territory forever.
Tami Taylor
Or uh, Rayna James. Just more Reyna being a powerful woman and delivering Mom-of-the-Year quality speeches for all who need a swift kick in the wranglers. And I’m not just talking about her own children. Connie Britton for President 2016.
Scarlett and Gunnar
From what I can remember (it’s been that long since the last episode), we’re FINALLY back on track to get a Gunnar and Scarlett reunion! Scarlett let the boring doctor who couldn’t just let Scarlett Lean In and be successful in an industry he knows nothing about. Thankfully she kicked him to the curb and is now primed to get back to making sweet, sweet two party harmonies (sex) with Gunnar. And thankfully Gunnar (don’t forget this Sam post) realized what a lame-o that touring sound women he was doing it with was.
Fingers crossed Scarlett will have finally dropped her faux hayseed accent and embrace an octave or two lower and our ears will be forever grateful.
Will’s Story
Any story about a gay country singer is the best storyline there is. With Nashville being notoriously straight friendly and there most definitely be closeted country singers and songwriters, this is the storyline I follow most closely and hope that Chris Carmack will help open minds to the LGBTQ community.
The Music
This is honestly the top reason why you should be watching Nashville, DUH.
Sure, Rayna and Deacon are probably, finally, maybe getting married in last night’s episode (I haven’t seen it yet) and maybe they’ll bring Gem and the Holograms back and address the ghost of Jeff Fordham and I’m sure Luke Wheeler will do something and say “Wheel’s Up!” but these are the things we REALLY care about ABC and the things me and my friends talk about in our group Nashville text.
Watch Nashville, Wednesdays on ABC.
Did you watch Nashville last night (Yes, it’s back!) catch it on Hulu if you missed it and let’s make sure they don’t cancel this show!
