I was flipping through the pages and not just looking at cool new re-imagined movies posters/pieces of artwork, I was remembering moments from my childhood, from my teenage years, hell even from my twenties and *ahem* from my more than twenties. This book went into my book bag and traveled with me everywhere I went for about a month because I was so excited about it; I had to show everyone how cool it is. So, now that I have annoyed impressed all my friends and family here I am ready to amaze you all. There are so many posters in this book that I feel like every time I open it I see a new one, so I picked out some of my top fave’s. Let’s do this!
Grease
I mean come on, it’s Grease! How cute is this movie poster! It should totally be used for the upcoming Grease: Live!
Arist: Brian Andrew Jasinski
The NeverEnding Story
Who didn’t want their own Falkor? This movie poster gets it.
Artist: Dave Perillo
Beetlejuice
My all time FAVORITE movie as a child. I’m talking YOUNG child too. My parents did not do a good job censoring our televisions. More on that in a minute. This poster is fantastic. I love the colors!
Artist: Van Orton Design
Guardians Of The Galaxy
I loved this movie and everything about, including all of the original movie posters. However, THIS movie poster is just badass.
Artist: Paul Shipper
Killer Klowns From Outer Space
Hey, you remember when I said my parents weren’t that great at censoring what we could watch? Picture me, adorable, innocent, angelic (I may be stretching it just a bit there) little me at five years of age, being forced to watch this movie by my hideous older brothers. I will never be OK around a clown or a dumpster for the rest of my life.
Artist: Jason Edminston
If you or anyone you know is a movie buff, I HIGHLY recommend this book. All of the different movie posters are so amazing; seeing all the different artists ideas and spins on the movies that we have loved for years is a great way to remind you of how much you loved those movies to being with. It’s also a great reminder that at one time the movie poster wasn’t a mass produced airbrushed digitally made representation of the cast. It was a real hand drawn, hand painted, lovingly crafted, piece of art. Wouldn’t it be nice to get back to that?
Expect for the Killer Klowns poster. Love didn’t make that poster. Terrible, horrible things made that one. #Nightmares
