The money that the women earn has helped them pay for electricity for their homes, open their own savings accounts, and send their children to school. Providing education is another goal of Ajiri, which uses its proceeds to send children to school. The Ajiri Foundation currently pays for the school fees, books, etc. of 29 Kenyan orphans. I think most people want to help those that are less fortunate than themselves, especially at this time of year, but they don’t know how. How amazing is it to know that buying something you drink every day can help such a worthy cause?
I was given their black tea as a gift once and it’s damn good. If you like your black tea a little fancier you can also buy it flavored with ginger, lemon, or mango. They even have Rooibos red tea if you want to completely fly off the handle.
And of course if tea doesn’t float your boat, they sell whole bean and ground coffee too!
Either way, this is something lovely for the caffeine junkie or humanitarian in your life. You can plug in your zip code on their website to find out where to buy Ajiri products in a store, or buy it online if nowhere near you carries it. If you don’t have a tea or coffee lover in your life you can buy some for yourself! The holidays can a stressful time and a warm, cozy drink is so relaxing.
Doesn’t that look wonderful?! Doing a little something to help out other people in the world is wonderful too. Teamwork makes the dream work guys.
