Disney has marketed the SHIT out of this movie and we all have expectations higher than X. And with good reason, the trailers, the clips, the images, EVERYTHING makes this movie look amazing and like the savior of the franchise after Episodes 1-3 were a semi bust (story wise). Of course this could potentially lead up to a HUGE let down which BB-8 turns into the new Jar Jar Binks or John Boyega’s Finn is a whiney as Hayden Christensen’s Anakin.
Yesterday, the embargo lifted on news outlets who have already seen the movie and reviews have started to pour out. If you’re like me, you’re trying your darndest to avoid spoilers and other people’s reviews but ya know, they sneak into my periphery, especially since I WORK on the internet. Some of the stuff that has snuck in has been a SUPER mixed bag, so let’s join together and ACCEPT IT NOW.
Will Harrison Ford look like the Han from our fantasies?
Will Carrie Fischer look like the Leia from our fantasies?
Will Leia and Han both look like badass mature adults?
YES!!
Are Rey and Kylo Ren twins? Related? Not at all?
WHO KNOWS. Accept it now.
Will there be more than one lens flare?

This is a JJ Abrams film, so YES accept it now film maker nerds.
Will Oscar Isaac make us squirm in our seats?
You tell me ladies!!! (and gents!)
Will we be sad that Captain Phasma is a bad guy?
Yes we will. We LOVE Gwendoline Christie and we want her on the light side! But man, she will be an amazing villain, her pose says it all.
Will the whiney-ness of Luke Skywalker have mellowed over the years? Also will we see Luke?!
PLEASE Mark Hamill, PLEASE! And suddenly Hayden Christensen’s choice to play Anakin a bit whiney makes A WHOLE LOT OF SENSE.
Will we all be really freaking glad to see Star Wars back on the big screen?
DUH!!
So what, the hopes and dreams and anticipation of so many fangirls and boys has been building for 30+ years since the last GOOD films were released. So what we all are hoping this movie is amazing and thus justifies us spending 150 bucks on that remote control BB-8 (just me?). SO WHAT! Good luck Disney, the expectations couldn’t be higher than they are right now, only a few hours before the curtain drops on this new generation of Star Wars.
I’m really TRYING to accept whatever happens NOW! See you at the theater! Tweet or comment your Star Wars The Force Awakens reactions!
