First off, Grant Gustin as Flash is my jam.
If you have read any of my posts, you’ll know I don’t go for abs and salmon ladder displays. Sorry, Team Arrow Ol-lovers, it’s just not my thing. I like my men pale, sensitive, intellectual, socially awkward and mostly British. Grant Gustin is, in fact, not British, but I’ll make the same special allowance for him as I do for my favorite little Maze Runner, Dylan O’Brien.
Anyway, Gustin has more than earned the title of superhero during two seasons in The Flash. He’s great in the action sequences and has awesome comedic timing, but has brought plenty of tears to the small screen too. As Flash dealt with the death of his mother, wrongful imprisonment of his father and betrayal from his mentor, we all cried along with Barry Allen. Don’t even get me started on all the incredible father/son moments between Barry and his adopted father, Joe West.
But we’re here to talk Cisco Ramon.
The Flash has an amazing team standing behind him, but the highlight for me has always been Cisco Ramon, played by Carlos Valdes. His t-shirt game is always on point, he’s the brainchild behind all the villainous names and is turning into a supercool MetaHuman himself, Vibe.
And now he’s dating Hawkgirl. Considering Hawkgirl’s doomed/inevitable relationship with Hawkman, it’s not going to last long, but we can still bask in the glory that was their second “first date” for all of eternity. Cisco showed up to her workplace with The Princess Bride downloaded to a portable movie projector, bearing a basket of flowers, chocolate and wine over his head like Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything all while the dulcet sounds of Peter Gabriel played in the background. It was perfection that all men should live up to from here on out.
