Remember that time I wrote that post about how I thought all the Fear was gone from The Walking Dead? I was SO WRONG. So very, very, wrong.
Humble pie, you taste bitter and sad. Much like my feels.
**This Post Contains Spoilers. Stop Reading Now If You Aren’t Up To Date on TWD**
If you’re still reading I’m going to assume that you read my warning stated above.
I need to talk about what happened on Sunday’s episode of TWD. I am NOT OK. What in the ham sandwich are they thinking? Having a sketchy death scene like that for Glenn and then showing us previews for next week’s show of what looks to be Morgan’s back story. The writers and producers must have a giant set of something’s if they think THAT’s appropriate.
Last season some of my friends and a lot of the fans were giving Rick Grimes grief for being too black and white on the whole kill or don’t kill thing. Well guess what friends, if Glenn had killed Nick when they were duking it out in the woods he would either A) definitely be alive right now and not staring at walker toes while Nick’s corpse gets the chomps or B) not be eviscerated by a whole bunch of hungry hungry zombies. It’s like Rick said, he doesn’t like killing, he just knows that if he doesn’t do it now, that person is gonna mess up later and get someone else killed and then Rick is going to have to kill them later. But no, everyone wants to “save humanity” and make Rick start chilling with the killing. Glenn is the eternal optimist. You know what that gets you in a decaying world? Eaten.
So let’s just take a quick peek at that scene one more time, mmmmKay?
Let’s talk about the horde of walkers for just a minute because you know IT’S A FREAKING HORDE OF WALKERS! Not just the one that just *maybe* swallowed Glenn up but also the one currently impinging on Rick’s personal space in the RV. That’s a whooping load of walkers; no way is that RV gonna stay upright throughout all those bodies trying to get to the tasty human snack packs Rick just provided them. So, there’s that as well. You wonder why I get so caught up in this show, it’s because of terrible cliff hanger endings like Sunday nights! How could I have ever thought the Fear was gone?!?
I must be insane to think this show is getting boring.
To be honest though, this episode was dead to me the minute the group hide inside the pet store and there was cat and dog bones in the cages. There is a line in my heart you cannot cross Walking Dead, and you crossed it. You crossed it.
So let’s duke it out: Is Glenn Dead? Or Alive?
