Two days ago The Hollywood Reporter announced that Mae Whitman and Lauren Graham best known (by me) from their work as Ann on Arrested Development and Lorelai on Gilmore Girls (or, sure, from Parenthood if you were into that “I want to die from all my tears” stuff every week) will adapt the book for CBS films.
I am so excited about this!!! This book was such a fun read and I think would translate SO well on screen. WHO DOESN’T LOVE A PRINCESS MOVIE? Here’s a real quick list of my favorites…
The Princess Diaries
Yep. This movie was perfect. The weird dorky girl (who seriously resembles me from ages 12-14 and 1/2) BECAME A PRINCESS
Enchanted
Yep. There was SINGING. And Amy Adams
Ella Enchanted
Yes, stop it. It was good. It has Hugh Dancy!
Princess Dairies 2
YES. Clearly terrible Anne Hathaway Princess movies are my favorite
Chasing Liberty
OF COURSE. It’s a good ol’ American princess story!!
A Princess for Christmas
Wait, what? How did THAT get in here?
Anyway, there is nothing an average American 30-something enjoys more than a Princess Movie, and I expect The Royal We will make it to my very through favorites list. And obviously I’m rooting for Mae Whitman to star as Bex. She has the perfect combination of “average American girl” who could totally go glam.
And obviously the thing an average American girl likes best next to Princess movies is thinking about what English guy should star as the love interest in a movie. I’m throwing Douglas Booth into the ring. For a refresher, check out this post
Who do you think should play Prince Nick, guys!?
