Or, if you’re like me, you can be a cat, again.
Or, you could forget the whole damn thing and do what any normal grown-up adult would do and dress up your pet. More on that in a bit.
Halloween in Philadelphia
First, let me tell you a story about Halloween in Philadelphia. I’ve lived here for YEARS, but last year was my very first halloween-at-home experience. Growing up I lived in a small town off a small street with a long driveway. We never had trick-or-treaters. And last year was the first time since I moved to the city that I wasn’t living in an apartment or loft building.
So after 31 years of living, I got to experience my REAL Halloween. And it was INSANE. I’m talking you go through $200-worth-of-candy insane. I’m talking if you even think of handing-out-healthy-food-you’ll-definitely-be-robbed-that-night insane. In the suburbs, it’s typical to expect trick-or-treaters if your outside lights are on. In the city, you have to stand on your stoop if you want kids to stop. And stop they did, because THIS was the most popular costume of the night (Yeah, even more popular than you, 75th Elsa from Frozen I saw in a row) and she sat in the window modeling for all her admirers.
Why yes, that is a tiny grown-up kitten named Kit Cat in a bee costume. She hated it so much. It was amazing.
