Oh The Mindy Project, how I love thee! While Fox is clearly a big dumdum, I am glad that Hulu had its thinking-cap on and brought the show over to the streaming platform. And, being very Mindy Lahari-like I subscribe to pretty much all streaming services (and I have the silver package on cable; I do acknowledge the problem and say shove it.) The Mindy Project appeals to me on many levels, some of those are even beyond the surface. Let’s discuss.
Her Blatant Love of Food
Ugh, the struggle of dieting. I feel as someone who constantly struggles with weight and yo-yo dieting, my love of food is understood without words. If I voiced all my food related thoughts, I would fear the knowing look of strangers, colleagues and friends…”Of course you love food, look at you.” (I also wasn’t hugged enough as a child, I’ve got material for years and years of therapy, don’t you worry) While that is likely something all made up in my head, Mindy Lahari has NO problem talking about her passionate relationship with food. #Hero
Her Self Confidence
Mindy may refer to herself as chubby, but she also refers to herself as beautiful, smart and powerful. While often her self-image may be a bit warped, you got to hand it to her, she owns it.
Her Ability to Speak the Truth
While I sometimes own this ability or just suffer from a lack of filter, you have to admire the fact that she speaks her personal truth.
Her Boyfriend, Danny
Because, Danny.
There are so many reasons to love this show that would take me 10 years to explain, or enough for another post.
