That’s right folks, you read that correctly. Tobias Menzies, our very own Frank Randall/Captain Black Jack Randall/Evil Bastard Extraordinaire, will be playing a Lycan in the next installment of the Underworld series, brought to us by Sony Screen Gems and Lakeshore.
The Underworld series has long been a favorite of mine. I mean what’s not to love? This series of films hits all the important marks; hot men in leather, Vampires, Lycans (werewolves for those of us playing the home game), kick ass women (also in leather), over the top violence, and a somewhat sketchy love story. Yup, right up my alley. It’s like Christmas just came to me in August.
In Underworld: Next Generation our darling Tobias is set to play the role of a new Lycan by the name of Marius. One can only hope and pray this Lycan will follow the pattern of the rest of the beastly characters and consider clothing as an optional accessory.
Kate Beckinsale will be back as well, reprising her role as badass assassin, Selene. Oh, and just in case you’re wondering, Theo James will be back to play the very yummy Vampire-Lycan hybrid, David.
You just keep dancing you beautiful bastard. We’ll wait over here…
Just to make things even better for all of us Outlander fans out there, the film is being directed by Anna Foerster. Name doesn’t ring a bell? Well it should, she’s the genius who directed the season finale of Outlander. Yes, THAT season finale. The one that made you hate Black Jack Randall with every breath in you, and at the same time, fall in love all over again with the amazing acting talents of Tobias Menzies and Sam Heughan.
Filming is set to begin this Fall. Fangirling is set to begin shortly after. Sorry guys, but waiting for this film might just make me go crazy.
Are you excited to see Tobias and Theo side-by-side? What other TN Favorites could we suggest they cast for the film? Aaron Tveit? Rob Pattinson?
