*Warning: If you haven’t read the entire book series, this post contains spoilers.
There’s plenty of repeat footage to be found, but we also have loads of new stuff. Here are my top moments as rated by my super scientific Freak-Out-O-Meter.
Baby Thomas
We witness a toddler-sized Thomas ripped from his mother’s arm at some kind of internment camp and then greeted by the nefarious Ave Paige on what looks to be a train. This one really tugs at my heartstrings, because I am a mom. If anyone tried to take my baby, I’m pretty sure I’d She-Hulk on their asses.

Where are they taking her?
Very early in book 2 of the series penned by James Dashner, the character Teresa is separated from the group. Thomas a.k.a. The Mother Hen does not take the move lightly. Along with that, I’m super intrigued as to how the movie Teresa’s lack of telepathy will play out. It was a big part of the plot throughout the second book that she kept secrets from Thomas via her special power, but so far the movie’s creators have shied away from the supernatural.

Brenda the Rescue Dog
Lemme be honest, I did not like this girl in the book series. She was a plot-driven, one-dimensional character that interrupted my love story between Thomas and Teresa. BUT … after watching the actress Rosa Salazar in action at the #SDCC I am super excited to meet her. In Rosa’s words, “Brenda don’t f*ck around.” I am so ready for that badass YA character.

Minho Knows Kung Fu
I love, love, love seeing actors do realistic stunts. After watching hours upon hours of interviews, I know that this group did just that. They worked really hard at running, kicking and fighting. I’m ready to witness their skillz.

Crank Action
You guys, these are not your typical Walking Dead zombies. Because there are varying levels of “Cranks,” the baddies have varying levels of physical strength and mental capability. This one apparently had enough brawn to scale a decrepit building, chase Thomas and Brenda and break through glass. #cannoteven

And that’s just the big sequences. Don’t get me started on the quick clips of Thomas passing out from heat stroke, this creepy mother f*cker…
The rampant machine gun fire and explosions…
And this scene.
OMG, folks. O em freakin’ gee. I’m not totally sure where this scene is in the book series, but I think I know what it is and it’s going to be hard to watch. I will probably cry all the tears for poor Winston. Why, movie makers, why? Why my innocent-hearted Newt and Winston?

My overall impression of the second trailer…
