This year, because we’re totally lazy and it was the ONLY idea Jamie suggested that got any reaction from the rest of the group, we went as Hipster Disney Princesses. And it was a success! People knew who we were (though if they saw Beth or I separately we just looked like badly dressed comic-conners with weird hair) and actually asked to take photos OF us and WITH us!
It seems that we caught the group cosplay bug and we’ll definitely do this again! Until then, we thought we’d recap for you our day together, dressed as Hipster Aurora (From Sleeping Beauty), Snow White, Belle (From Beauty and the Beast) and Ariel. This is:
A Day in the Life of a Hipster Disney Princess
10:00 am: Are you looking at us? We’re trying to get ready here:
10:15 am: Bonjour! Ev’ry morning just the same, Hipster Belle wakes up with an iced coffee:
11:00 am How do we look? Selfie time with the dingle-hopper before we head out the door:
11:15 am: No horse drawn carriages for these princesses (plus, flipping your fins you don’t get too far), Hipster Disney Princesses take San Diego public transit just like everyone else:
11:30 am: We’re here. Ew. There’s so many sweaty would-be-princes. Already.
11:35 am: It doesn’t take long for Snow White to find her prince (Arrow, of course):
11:45 am: Prime spot for a Hipster Photo opp:
11:50 am: We make a few friends
11:55 am: We stop by the Disney booth, obvi, ’cause there’s no place like Home.
12:00 pm: Ew. THESE Disney Princess bitches.
12:15 pm: We were promised Tacos. All we see is sun and sweat. There must be more than this provincial life.
12:20 pm: It’s not a Taco, but Hipster Snow White seriously considers eating this apple
12:30 pm: FINALLY. Someone brought us TACOS
12:35 pm: Hipster Belle is having a margarita. No one is surprised.
1:00 pm: In a Taco coma, Hipster Aurora fell asleep against a wall:
1:15 pm: Belle has her nose stuck in a book (a comic, of course)
1:20 pm: Hipster Ariel is NOT impressed with her options for swimming….
