Where do we begin with superhero news? With everything coming out of Comic con for some of our favorite super hero comics turned hunky tv-show, we could fill the internet with all the buzz and well, the best reaction gifs.
And despite my love for tumblr diving to find all the best gifs from around the world, I thought we would focus on some movie news. You know, like the latest stills from Batman vs. Superman.
Is that Henry Cavill or an Action Figure?
The internet believes this photo to depict Superman in a run-down, burned out Wayne Manor. Are we to believe this has something to do with the events of Man of Steel? We know that Metropolis took a beating as Superman and General Zod fought and crashed through buildings. In this cinematic world, Gotham is just across the river (as I discovered during the Comic Con panel.) It is possible that the fighting wasn’t contained to the city or there is darker history to Batman’s origin (I do believe Wayne Manor burns down in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, but I do not think this is supposed to be the same Bruce Wayne…) Regardless of the location, can we talk about Henry Cavill in this photo? He doesn’t even look real. This could be an action figure or limited edition sculpture piece straight from a locked Plexiglas showcase at Comic Con. He is THAT perfect. DAMN.
Batman should really lay off the Roids
Where did Batman’s neck go? One of our comic book illustrator friends, pointed this out on facebook (seriously go check out his work and be amazed.) and I didn’t see the issue at first, but now it does seems like Batman took costuming tips from Juggernaut.
Perhaps Batman is just trying to avoid getting his neck snapped since that appears to be this Superman’s thing. Not that reinforced whatever uber strength material Batman is using could stop Superman (OR DOES IT?) [Pre-emptive Editor’s note: Yes, I realize that Batman would never taken costume advice from the crazy Jaggernaut because Batman doesn’t take advice. Ok, ok, Jaggernaut is from Marvel and not DC so Batman and this villain would never cross paths. It is possible that there is a villain on the DC side that has a similar look because you can find similar characters in each universe, but I’m not omniscient. End note]
Jesse Eisenberg gets to play Mark Zuckerberg twice
Kudos to Zack Synder and team for bringing a modern twist to Lex Luthor. Lex is basically the sociopathic version of Mark Zuckerberg with a bit more swagger. Lexcorp gives the moder aura of grassroot efforts and understanding youth, meanwhile I’m sure there is some underhanded land-grab type of situation afoot (wasn’t that always Luthor’s M.O in the old movies?) or whatever the internet-age equivalent would be.
In women who kick ass news
Also in this film, but not in the latest stills in my favorite, Wonder Woman. Her leading man was just confirmed for her solo-film slated for 2017 release. Yes, Captain Jamie T. Kirk himself, Chris Pine will play Steve Trevor. For those who aren’t familiar with Steve, he is the reason Diana came to our modern world. Go forth and Wiki it, my friends (or watch the cartoons!)
Go forth and watch some DC Justic League on Netflix or Amazon. Pretend like you are showing you kids or little brother (or cats in my case) and enjoy the awesome.
Are you excited about the Chris Pine casting news? Are you excited for Batman vs. Superman? Or do you just want the Henry Cavill workout gif?
