Those of you that have been following the Christina and Britney feud/fake feud/media pitting female artists against each other since they both hit the pop charts in 1999, you may have understood the implication of Christina Aguilera doing a Britney Spears singing imitation somewhat better than Britney herself. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out Aguilera’s skills below:
I’m sure the musical selections were not a mistake by the Tonight Show staff, I mean Jimmy Fallon, himself even admits that he always wanted to hear that and we’re sure glad that it happened. I’ve personally always been Team Christina, but I’ll fully admit to have several Britney tracks on my dance/work out mixes — I’ve even attended Britney’s concert in Vegas (I have been to three Christina shows too.) All this Britney & Christina talk reminds me of their early career days together on MMC.
Let’s also appreciate baby Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling. Man, I wanted to be part of the club SO bad.
Christina is back on the voice this season and I, for one, am psyched. Although her outfit choices may be questionable…
She has some of the best banter with the fellow coaches and it my favorite part of the show. Who cares about the musical acts, I just want to see the coaches duke it out week after week. She may not be everyone’s favorite on the show, but you have to admit she is amazingly talented.
Season 5 also had my favorite Christina hair.
A keen observer may have noticed that Ed Sheeran assisted Christina with coaching the contestants. He tells Xtina in one interview that he has been a fan.
The fact that Ed mentions one of favorite Christina Aguilera albums being Stripped, we shouldn’t be too surprised that he covered her first hit from the album, Dirrty. (Side note: although a minor hit in the US, Dirrty was a huge hit in the UK and I know this because I’m a big dork.) Although, I’m not sure anyone could have anticipated how awesome the actual cover of the song is. Check it.
Don’t worry, Christina loved it.
.@EdSheeran gets down & #Dirrty?? yesss… you better work @TheRealRedman’s rap- yess!!…haha – Love u… XoXtina https://t.co/M5z0oQMYD8

Christina is right. The Redman rap, tho. Major props to Ed for this amazing stripped version of this song.
Is Christina Aguilera having the best week ever? Do we see a Ed Sheeran/Christina Aguilera collaboration in our future? Who else would you like to hear Christina Aguilera imitate?
