Part 2 of this set visit is live over on Fangirlish
Are you watching Marry Me? You really should be! This great show has heart and the chemistry between the cast members is infectious. That’s Normal & Fangirlish sent me to visit the set of and sit down with cast. They film the romantic sit-com here in Los Angeles on the famed Paramount Set. I was joined by a few other bloggers and the four of us hung out in The Kevin’s Apartment. The set decorators have done a great job with the little touches including my favorite, the couch. (yes, I took a photo)
My favorite episode was the Thanksgiving episode where Annie and Myrna battle for Thanksgiving hosting duties. This is the episode that got me, how many people are having these same kind of experiences with their own families, own in-laws and yes, maybe a little exaggerated but the writing staff was so on point.
We got to take a couple of photos and just chat with Tymberlee Hill and Sarah Wright Olsen, at which point I shared with Sarah that I followed her on Instagram and was kind of obsessed with her husband, Eric Christian Olsen on NCIS:LA. She was kind and let me gush. I also loved Tymberlee’s nails left over from New Year’s but looking amazing. So for a week Kay is going to have long sparkly nails. Such a fun fun time with these lovely ladies!
I then got to sit in one of the producer’s chairs while they filmed. This was kind of a bucket list thing for me. I’ve been on sets, but not when anyone was there. I’ve worked on studio lots but I’ve never seen how something gets filmed. I’m a dork I know. It was a really fun experience. And of course, while there is a script that is itself funny, mixing Casey, Dan & Tim and their different approaches to the lines. I had to bite my finger to keep from laughing and ruining the take. Luckily, Dan cracked up so badly, he needed makeup and started the scene over. Such a fun thing to see.
There are only a few episodes left this season and we hope NBC hears the fans and gives this show a season 2! You’ll be glad you tuned in! You can catch the five recent episodes on nbc.com or on hulu.
Check out our next installment on Fangirlish as we talk to each of the cast members and hear about what they are hoping for their characters if they get a second season and what the actors are currently obsessing over. Follow the show on Instagram for images from the show and behind the scenes treats with the cast.
