ICYMI: Paramore featuring Joy Williams from The Civil Wars

M[/dropcapy day was pleasantly made two afternoons ago when Hayley Williams from Paramore teamed up with Joy Williams formerly of The Civil Wars to release a duet called “I Hate to see your Heartbreak.”

I believe that I watched/listened to this at least 10 times in a row when I first heard it and as I am writing this post it’s on its 4th play.

The song was originally released in 2013 on Paramore: Self-Titled Deluxe but re-recorded as a duet with Joy Williams recently. Hayley told NPR that the song is about friendship: “I think of it as an ode to sisterhood. Close friendship between women who share their stories with each other and who lift each other up and understand one another.”

I love that. I love that because I’ve had this conversation with what seems like far too many friends this year.  And I’m so thankful that sisterhood and close friendship exists!
