Deanmon is still on the loose and Sammy is still trying to find him.
The Good
Crowley stole the show last night. Mark Sheppard truly shines when his character flips from horrifying to hilarious.

The Bad
Deanmon was fun last week. He did a lot of karaoke; he punched out an abusive ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately, this week he was just plain mean. He groped a stripper, abandoned his brother (again), seriously pushed Crowley around, and murdered a guy whose only crime was being a horrible husband and overall loser. Jensen’s evil grin is starting to freak me out.
The Ugly
Dark Stranger revealed his backstory and it wasn’t that awesome. I was really hoping for a serious nemesis arc that would last the entire first half of the season. IRL, he’s just a meathead with a vendetta. I consider this a fail for the Supernatural writing team … so far. Now that he’s been introduced to a monster-filled world he could become more interesting.
Cas’s story is also seriously boring me. Have we got an angel love story brewing? I don’t know about all that. I love Cas as a heroic side character who is oblivious to pop culture references. Despite loving Misha Collins, I’m not convinced our trench-coated friend can carry a whole storyline on his winged shoulders.
Hopes and Fears
Although it’s heartbreaking, I love the tension between my boys. Sam is working his “lost puppy dog” face full force and Deanmon is really scaring me. The redemption story, if done right, could be awesome.
Sam to Dean – “You’re my brother and I’m here to take you home.”
It’s hard to judge Supernatural until Episode 4, maybe 5, because the first three episode are almost entirely dedicated to the mythos of the season, but so far Season 10 is looking as dark as Deanmon’s eyes. Is it too dark? As I mentioned earlier, the most lighthearted character of the show right now is Crowley, the King of Hell! That’s saying something.
CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SONS.
