Sammy is working the blood cure we first saw used (unsuccessfully) in Season 8. In that version, it took a huge toll on our hero physically. This time around, it’s an emotional test. Deanmon is shaking loose every skeleton in the Winchester family closet. He blames Sammy for their mother’s death, and then he argues the family is barely better than the things they hunt.
Sammy: “This family is all we have ever had!”
Deanmon: “Well, then we got nothing.”
Meanwhile, Sammy finds old family pictures. #allthefeels #cannot

Crowley is a complicated guy and I have absolutely no idea what the hell (See what I did there? *wink *wink) he is up to this season. Did the show’s #1 demon just save the #1 angel?

Deanmon finally escapes the devil’s trap and all hell breaks loose. I have to commend actor/director Jensen Ackles for this sequence because it was amazing. I love scary tense moments in repetitive hallways with lots of doors and the homage to The Shining when Deanmon bursts through the door … Yes. More of that please.

Our knight in dingy trench coat made it to the Winchester bunker just in time to save Sammy, restrain Deanmon, and save Dean. Team Angel for the win.
Hopes and Fears
I’m really glad our boys are back together again, even if I know this whole Deanmon/Mark of Cain thing isn’t quite gone yet. No way the writers (or vehement fans) would let it go that easy.
Meanwhile, we’ve got this scary lady with hotel concierges bleeding and glued to her ceiling. We’ve already been told that witches would be a major player this season, so I can only assume we’ve just met our head witch. My fear is that this villain will be yet another quick story arc much like Dark Stranger and Deanmon. We need to be introduced to our main antagonist now.
