It’s kind of scary being a fan of the Outlander books AND the television show. Are my favorite moments going to be the ones that aren’t in the books or the ones that ARE?
I can’t handle the tension. At the very least, this week, episode 4, had a perfect mix of both. So, without further adieu, here are my Top Ten Moments from this week’s Outlander, The Gathering.
SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t seen episode 1×04, click away! I mean GO WATCH IT and then COME BACK.
1. Up the Kilt Action
If there is this kind of action every week, it will always be on my favorites list. I’m expecting the sexier kind sooner rather than later though.
Not the kilt she’s been wanted to peek under.
2. This Cock Fight
I don’t want to hear a word about crude in our posts. Between “I’ll save you some pie” and “it’s all your wanking makes your hand that fast” NO ONE is cruder than Angus and Rupert. Not even #blurtlander.
What other really gross euphemism can we use?
3. Self-Oblivious Claire
Oh so subtly looking for Jamie in the stables. Claire, quit acting like you have no idea that your main emotional movitator is wanting to have sex with this guy. Because it IS. It SOOOOOO is.
What do you mean Jamie doesn’t want to eye-f*** me today? He’s never had a problem with it before.
4. Everything Geillis
Everything about this scene makes me love Geillis. From her bangs to her costume to her bluntness. But my favorite has to be the line “I sleep like a newborn.” Why am I finding her strangely adorable?
Geillis: Coining “frenemy” since 1743.
5. Diana’s cameo
We are all in agreement that it’s super ballsy for her to do a speaking cameo and not just a appearance right?
Who’s HBIC here? I can’t decide.
6. This Exchange
From Caitriona’s super cute “Tis” to Angus’ gurgle, this might be the best scene in the entire episode.
“If it’s not Scottish IT’S CRAP!”
7. Stupid Laoghaire
I felt bad for her last week, but I’m definitely enjoying the moments like this one where she acts like a complete moron.
What you need is a potion to make you capable of a coherent conversation.
8. Drunk Dougal
Like Dougal himself, “I don’t hold w’ rape” but I’m really, like super really, into sensual Doug. Like when he’s sniffing Claire’s nape. Like I’m pretty into it.
I’m conflicted over finding this hot.
9. Amused JAMMF
Admittedly, I watched this exchange aaaabbbout 75 times. Because Jamie goes from protective to giggly in 2.5 seconds, and I love Amused!Jamie ALMOST as much as I love Caveman!Jamie. OH, and then he jumps straight into Comforting!Jamie which is my #3 favorite. GAH.
Sorry it took me half the episode to show up.
Let me giggle adorably to make up for it.
