I may not be in the best place to be heart-broken right now, but this anthology featuring some of my favorite authors is on sale (e-book) for $1.99 … so bring on the tears.
This anthology is edited by George RR Martin, and as most of our Outlander readers already know, contains a short story by Diana Gabaldon about Roger’s father during WWII, A Leaf on the Winds of All Hallows. Roger is just a wee babe in this story, and knowing his future with Reverend Wakefield and the theme of the anthology, I’m guessing this story brings on the sads. But it’s Diana G, so there is no doubt that Things Will Be Revealed, and Pain Will Be Welcomed.
Not to be left out, Neil Gaiman has a short story entitled, The Thing about Cassandra, about a guy who encounters an old girlfriend he never expected to see again. I’ve already read this one, and can tell you that in true Gaiman fashion, it has a chilling and twisty ending.
What would be a real tragedy to miss out on is Jacqueline Carey‘s story, You and You Alone, which serves as a prequel of sorts to her AMAZING epic fantasy, Kushiel’s Dart. The story tells the tale of the romance between Anafiel Delaunay and Rolande de la Courcel, an integral background story to the plot of Kushiel’s Dart that is sure to be completely mesmerizing.
Other authors in the anthology are: Peter S. Beagle, Jo Beverly, Jim Butcher, Yasmine Galenorn, MLN Hanover, Robin Hobb, Cecelia Holland, Tanith Lee, Marjorie M. Liu, Mary Jo Putney, Linnea Sinclair, Melinda Snodgrass, Lisa Tuttle and Carrie Vaughan.
So download a copy wherever you get your shameful erotica. Because the special price is an e-book, and because you read smut on your iPad, not because you need to be ashamed of this anthology. It’s perfectly respectable. Proceed.
