I just binge watched a Canadian TV show about werewolves and I’m only slightly ashamed.*
*False, I am not ashamed at all.
The show is Bitten and Season 1 is available on Netflix. Let me break it down for you.
Elena
Supernatural Status: One and only female Pack Werewolf, Bitten
Spirit Animal: Pink Power Ranger
Known For: Breaking wrists and ripping out hearts

Clayton
Supernatural Status: Pack Werewolf, First protector of the Alpha, Bitten
Spirit Animal: Travis Maddox of Beautiful Disaster
Known For: ‘Brood in the Nude’ and a wicked interrogation style

Nick
Supernatural Status: Pack Werewolf, Born a Wolf
Spirit Animal: Christian Grey of Fifty Shades of Grey
Known For: The mother he never knew and Level 11 seduction skills

Supernatural Status: Pack Werewolf, Born a Wolf
Spirit Animal: Every man in a Lifetime movie ever
Known For: Being a top-notch therapist and expectant Were-baby daddy

Known For: Being ruthless in a ‘father I never had’ loving sort of way
There are other Wolves, namely Peter and Antonio, and then we mix in a few humans, Phillip and his quirky sisters, to represent Elena’s “normal” world.

So we’ve got loads of hot guys, a love triangle, and our reluctant female protagonist. Pretty cliche, right? Wrong, because unlike the many lip-biting virginal protagonists before her, Elena don’t play. First, she’s a ninja. Girl got moves and she is not afraid to defend her family. Second, her torn heart between human Phillip and werewolf Clay is legitimate. Phillip is so nice, like, make you breakfast in bed after a long hot bubble bath that he drew for you and strew with rose petals nice. The man keeps being introduced to these “cousins” that he then assumes Elena is having affairs with and he still wants to marry her!
Meanwhile, Clay is bringin’ that smolder. He has all the glorious angst-filled backstory. He still wears their engagement rings, you guys. He also has a PhD in anthropology, because what good supernatural hero isn’t hot and a genius?
The hero/villain lines in this show tend to blur. Everyone was wronged at some point and everyone has a valid reason for revenge. Which brings me to the two things this show is not afraid of: the death of central characters to keep the plot steam rolling ahead and nudity.
Like lots of nudity…
Seriously, Clay gets nekkid in every episode. My husband’s one comment about the entire series was, “Lotta butts.”
Greyston Holt, the Canadian hunk who plays Clay, even started a nudity campaign via Twitter for a Season 2 renewal.

And won. It was announced that Bitten Season 2 will air in 2015.
