Colibe Caillat “Try”
Aw. Kinda nice, right? Beautiful women, taking off that make-up showing how beautiful they are behind the mask. Thumbs up.
I’m all for make-up. I love it. I’m the queen of the daily cat-eye. There’s not a MAC make-up artist I fear (Lies. I actually fear them all). You won’t catch me out on a Friday night without a red lip (or, apparently, a Thursday evening cookie-night with my friends and their babies, as happened last night, when I reached into the bottom of my bag for a nice light pink gloss, and instead put on a dark red lip stain (in a dark car, while driving), not noticing until I went to the bathroom during dinner. Eek) but this summer I’ve been trying a limited-make-up thing. Inspired by my 3 younger sisters who all rarely wear make-up and are gorgeous, for the past few weeks, I haven’t touched my liquid eyeliner, naked 3 pallet or Mac Relentlessly Red (intentionally) except to caress the containers and whisper to them that I *may* be back soon if I can score an invite to some hot Comic Con party {not that I’m not excited for the emergency Kanye West dance party my friend Elena is throwing Thursday night}
Yes I wear concealer & mineral foundation (are you crazy? Hellooooo Adult acne), I curl my lashes and put on a swipe of mascara. And *confession* I haven’t yet been brave enough to forego eyeliner completely, but I am just putting a thin line on my upper lashes. Oh and I wear blush because #casper. But…. I kinda like it. And by that I mean, I think I look like hell most days, but I’m getting used to seeing myself look like hell. And accepting it. A little bit.
Exhibit A: Today**
See- look at me not caring what the internet thinks about my nearly-make-up-less-face! It’s not like I took 50 pictures to get this one very mediocre selfie right.
What do you think about Colbie Caillat’s new video? What’s your make-up routine this summer? Ever accidentally put on a full red lip before seeing your friend’s 1 week old?
*don’t get me wrong: I’m all for positivity, the kind campaign and hello giggles having a super positive female-friendly policy. that’s nice, and refreshing. it’s just.. not the TN way, yanno?
**this is not a ploy to get you to compliment my selfie. I actually was inspired by that video mmkay?
