All British boys all the time. Welcome to Union Jack’d. This week, we talk Kit Harington.

JON FREAKIN’ SNOW!

Soooooo, I’m kind of a fan.
But first let’s go back…way back…to when Jon Snow Kit Harington was cast as the lead in Olivier Theatre’s award-winning War Horse. EHRMAGERD, he looks adorable in that hat! Mr. Spielberg, why wasn’t Kit Harington cast in your big screen version of this horsey tale? A travesty, I say.

Shortly after his success in theatre (and filming the pilot episode for Game of Thrones), Kit starred in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. Admittedly, I watched this flick on Netflix only because it featured a fresh-faced young Harington. Still, it was pleasantly horrifying and Ned Stark Sean Bean made a cameo as the loving dad!

Then Game of Thrones exploded on to the scene and everyone was like, “Who is this Christopher Catesby Harington and how does his hair stay so perfect in frigid temperatures?” His trademark dark curly locks, just in case you were wondering, have their own contract with HBO. His eternally concerned eyebrows are still free agents.

Now, everyone has their favorite character on GoT. Let’s all agree to disagree, mmmkay? Jon Snow just happens to be mine. (1) He’s got an angsty backstory. I am such a sucker for a man who never knew his mother, i.e., almost every Young Adult fiction hero ever. (2) He’s loyal to a fault and always tries to do the honorable thing. (3) He’s a virgin until he meets his true love, a total badass Wildling. Despite his…ahem…inexperience, Ygritte seems well pleased.

But, Kit Harington isn’t just a one game (see what I did there) actor. He played the lead hunk in Pompeii, which unfortunately was yet another movie proving lava has no place in Hollywood. It did, however, produce this GIF. Thank you, Pompeii.

His next project is voicing Viking ‘Eret’ in How to Train Your Dragon 2. Recognize the eyebrows?

His future movies include The Seventh Son, a big-budget wizard flick with Jeff Bridges and the devilishly handsome Ben Barnes, Spooks: The Greater Good, an action-drama involving spies and terrorist attacks, and Testament of Youth, a coming of age epic set during WWI.
Unfortunately, Kit remains a man of mystery when it comes to social media. His fandemonium even feels the need to routinely send out this friendly reminder…
He told Buzzfeed,
Still, I love Kit Harington and #thatsnormal.
Do you love you some Jon Snow err Kit Harington? Who should I feature NEXT on Union Jack’d?
