I’ve always been a kind of bystander in this strange world, and I have found that I might have begun to cross that line. No, I have not stalked a set, or a home, nor do I plan to. However, I have to admit that I have become far more interested in Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard’s relationship that I would have thought capable.
Over the past several years I have seen bits and pieces of episodes of the Duggar’s Reality Show. I’ve been mildly interested in how they manage such a large family and how all of the kids seem happy and well adjusted. I’ve lost touch with the Duggars over the past few years and didn’t think anything of it. Until the fact that they were courting came to my attention. I was instantly obsessed. We don’t have cable which means that I found myself buying each episode on Amazon the morning after it aired. Sure Jim Bob and Michelle are still awkwardly loveable, but it took courting daughters to suck me in and I can’t turn back. I now find myself following multiple Duggar Twitter and Instagram accounts.
After a long season of awkwardness, and some pretty bad acting, we were finally allowed to see Derick propose to Jill. It was precious. I find myself incredibly excited about this couple whom I will never meet, and rooting for them to be successful. Of course the internet is critical. Last week part of their wedding registry was published. Considering they are young and have never had to maintain a household it was predictably atypical. However, I can’t help but hope that these two cuties turn out to be all that they appear to be on their reality show. I have no idea what they did to hook me, but you can bet the farm that I will be stalking all of their social media sites to catch a glimpse of pictures from their honeymoon now that they’re hitched!
Also, can we go ahead and give Jessa and Ben a pass on the whole “too young to be married” thing and give them their own show please?
