If you’ve been on the internetz at all today you’ve probably seen the array of headlines about the alleged semi violent beatdown that Beyonce’s sister, Solange, gave Jay Z in the Standard Hotel elevator after the Met ball. Witness it via TMZ:
So why did Solange go all Tina and Ike on Jay Z? Jamie and I break it down…

Nikki: Older brothers are mean! He probably embarrassed her in front of Douglas Booth and Benedict Cumberbatch. I had that same fight with my brother in grade school, only it was over the outcome of a monopoly game.

Nikki: Maybe she was just so freaking hungry after dieting all week to fit into her dress for this event. I’m actually surprised more of these beat downs don’t happen during awards show season. Everyone is #HANGRY.

Nikki: He showed her a pic of the Peaches n Cream barbie on his phone and pointed at her dress.

Nikki: Solange heard about how Jay Z and Bey went vegan for 22 days only to find out it was to support a friend’s vegan food business. Bey wearing a pizza sweatshirt and leather outfits should have tipped everyone off. Clearly Solange felt duped.

Nikki: Solange had finally had enough of them hanging out with Gwyneth Paltrow and couldn’t take the Goop recipes and gift ideas one second longer. I mean, who can, honestly?

So all in all it was probably justified, girls will do crazy some crazy ish when they have’t had solid food in days… or maybe she needs to hit up Lindsay Lohan for the hotline to Promises Malibu. ALLEGEDLY. Hope this doesn’t ruin family game night at the Carter/Knowles mansion.
