Sorry we’re a little slow on the uptake, We’re a day late, but there are a few things must be said about what happened at the Oscars this year. We will do this real quick since I am sure everyone is just about over it as I am.
One thing I loved about the night’s ceremony was there was no hurry up music playing which allowed for some amazing speeches instead of a rambling list of names. My two favorite speeches were from these guys, who obvi called each other before the show to make sure they would match like BFF’s always should.
Jared Leto
Lets talk Jared Leto, this dude knew he had this in the bag and personally I think he deserved a second award for his speech. Ellen joked that he was the most beautiful of the night, and its no lie you guys. I feel like I have become the official Jared Leto superfan on That’s Normal, which is funny since I really haven’t seen anything he has been in since Fight Club and I can never remember the name of the band he is in. Nevertheless, I have mentioned him in my last three posts. I can’t help it, it always comes back to him, but can you blame me? The man is beautiful, even my three year old nephew asked me “what’s her name?” while he was giving his speech.
Side note: Does anyone remember Shannon Leto from when he was the absolute worst on My So Called Life? I am glad he got another gig because acting was not his thing. He’s no Casey Affleck if you know what I mean.

Matthew McConaughey
He also had to know that turning himself into a skeleton would pay off in the end. I loved that his speech was basically an outlined sermon. When a man talks about his love for his family and for God it gets me every time.. I also loved that he described his father watching from heaven with a Bud Light. This is fitting for a man who allegedly died while having sex, plus what else would they have in Heaven? The King of Kings only serves the King of Beers. FYI I know NOTHING about beer.
Sad Leo
Leo I understand the pain you’re in. You’ve been nominated and snubbed time and time again. No one understands you better than I do. I’ve been a bridesmaid nine times! That’s right people NINE TIMES! Don’t worry Leo our day will come soon, until then take comfort in the multitude of supermodels you are bedding while I eat this bag of Cadberry mini eggs.

The Selfie Seen ‘Round The World
Over 3 Million retweets. Imagine if that actually mattered, I’d be more impressed if for every tweet Ellen or Samsung (who lets be honest, pulled off a great product placement idea) gave a dollar for each retweet of that photo to a worthy cause.* Not to say it wasn’t one of the best parts of the night, you know us around here, we love a good selfie, its sort of our thing.

Musical Performances
The award for best performance of a nominated song goes to Pharrell. Although I am concerned that he doesn’t have any other clothes apart from that hat and track jacket. If you are going to have a look do something like Johnny Cash, not like every 7th grade boy in gym class. The track jacket is tired. I will vote for him to keep that crazy hat because I think its AMAZING!
There was a lot of other amazing things that happened, such as Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey being major fame whores throughout the whole show (I love both of them for it). I also need to mention the cheesy and amazing acceptance speech from the real life Disney characters/ writers of “Let it Go” they accepted that Oscar the way everyone from Disney should accept an award.
All and all I think it was one of the most entertaining shows in a while, thanks to all of the participation of all the stars, Ellen was pretty meh, but no doubt Sunday night’s show will go down in history.
*Today after this post was written, Samsung announced that they were giving 3 million dollars to two charities of Ellen’s choice!

Were you watching Oscars 2014? Did Adele Dazeem move you to tears or was it Lupita N’Oyongo’s acceptance speech?
