One of my best friends Meg opened up her home to host Jane’s Night In with me. Meg is an award winning photographer who mentors high school girls throughout their senior year of high school. We invited some of her girls over along with some of our other friends to screen Austenland and fun was had by all.
Everyone was pumped to see the movie and to get a chance to ask Stephanie some questions. I personally was super stoked to catch up with my college friend Felicity to see what she’s been up to since NYU. I hadn’t seen her since she found her long lost son in the middle of New York playing with the Philharmonic and boy was it great to see her again.
By now most of you know that Austenland is a cute little chick flick based on the book by Shannon Hale following Jane, an Austen super fan, who spends her life savings to be immersed in all things Austen. If Jane really existed I am sure she would be a contributor for That’s Normal. I mean if anyone gets her, its us… am I right? The film Stars Keri Russell, Jane Seymour, Jennifer Coolidge, Bret McKenzie and JJ Feild as Mr. Nobley (the resident Mr. Darcy).
I don’t want to give away too much of the movie because y’all need to go out and get it TODAY, but personally favorite part of the film by far was Jennifer Coolidge’s performance as Miss Elizabeth Charming. She delivers so many laugh out loud moments you’ll love! You can view our chat with Stephanie below, but what you can’t see is while we chatted with Stephanie, in true TN form, all the girls were sneaking up and taking real quick selfies with Stephanie/the computer screen. Stephanie was even kind enough to pose for one with me after the chat!
We ended up staying up way too late and chatting with each other. It was an awesome way to spend a snowy Friday night not in Seattle*. Many thanks to Stephanie, Fickle Fish and Method Agency for letting us be apart of the release of this fun film!
*The map showed our party would be in Seattle. Apparently the creator of the map *ahem* didn’t know other places existed in Washington outside of Seattle. Though she should have known that. Hello. #Forks
Austenland is out on DVD/Blu-Ray and Digital Today, Tuesday February 11th!
