As dragonfliestbay tweeted us just a little bit ago to remind us we are VERY LATE for Man Candy Mondays today,
We won’t waste anymore time. We give you our picks for this week:
Claire’s Pick: Benedict Cumberbatch
Ummm, let’s face it, none of us really need a long paragraph explaining why we’re diehard Cumberbitches. Benedict’s awesomeness needs no introduction. So with that, I give you my pick of the week:
Added bonus, the man can dance! Look at those moves. Is it just me or is his sex ON FIRE?!!!
(Oh yeah- that’s Tom Hiddleston too. Thought you wouldn’t mind) You’re welcome! 😉
Jamie W’s Pick: Tom Mison
When the previews for “Sleepy Hollow” first came out I was intrigued, but when it premiered I never got around to watching it. A few weeks ago, my Mom and I decided to check it out one night when there was nothing on TV. And when Ichabod Crane appeared in all his glory, it took about for seconds for me to be all, “WELL HELLO THERE SIR.” So I did what any good fangirl would do and found out the name of the actor who played him so I could look at pictures obsessively. Why do I love Tom Mison:
He goofs around with his costar Nicole Beharie and it’s adorable.
He can pull off American Revolutionary garb like nobody’s business. As a history buff, I find this all kinds of sexy.
He can also pull off the usually ridiculous “coy male model jacket collar tug” pose.
Most importantly, he played Mr. Bingley in a mini-series called “Lost in Austen.” You guys. REGENCY! We love that pretty hardcore here at That’s Normal.
Lorena’s Pick: Euros Lyn
Euros Lyn (I still am not positive on pronunciation because it’s been too long since I’ve heard it said, but I’m sure it’s not what we are imagining–unless you happen to be Welsh, and then you can inform us in the comments, please!) is a Welsh director who has the same good Welsh stock as Michael Sheen and Ryan Giggs (I mean, look at the hair! That hair, to me, says “I’m WELSH. I’m GORGEOUS. Accompany me to the Gower, babe, and we’ll have pints at The Joiners on our way back to Swansea.” Probably just me who it says it to, but whatever.) I have a serious thing for Welsh dudes. I am not ashamed–have you heard them speak? #unf
Unsurprisingly (for TN readers who follow my posts at all), Euros is a regular director for Doctor Who and directed the entire miniseries of Torchwood’s “Children of Earth” (which will make you cry). He’s won three Best Director BAFTA Cymru awards, including for Sherlock’s first season. He also directed a few episodes of Broadchurch, which makes me even more fond of the man. Right now he’s working on Last Tango in Halifax.
I like Euros because he’s a hard worker with a good eye and great attitude. It helps too that the first thing he ever directed was as a little kid and a mash up between Doctor Who and The Muppets, with Kermit the Frog as the companion (EPIC!)
He went on to study drama at Manchester University, where he said he got to perform Shakespeare in seedy nightclubs (42s or 5th, Euros? On second thought, they probably weren’t around then…)
Why he went into film and TV? The same reason we all swoon for it (and Euros RPF…#awkward): “I knew that film and TV were the media for me; the magic of being able to escape into another world, the inspiration of the hero’s journey, the satisfying tidiness of the happy ending were all utterly seductive.”
Okay how was that? Are you all sugared up on this Man Candy Monday? Tweet us your favs over at @thats_normal
