It’s still pretty early in the mid-season hiatus and I’m like a junkie looking for my next fix. I’m already rationing myself on books because like most of my TN bloggers, I tend to lose myself in the books and stop all other things. Luckily, I finally decided to check out that TV Show with Karl Urban mixed with some possible cool looking androids – Almost Human.
My Favorite Things
So much Sci-Fi goodness
In the not-too-distant-future, the uncontrollable evolution of technology and science has caused the crime rate to increase by 400%. This means, crazy weird sci-fi goodies in every episode, but you know, a reason to have android partners that appear to be ALMOST HUMAN. Get it?? And in an effort to woo the mini-giraffe aficionados, this happened:
BAD ROBOT
No, I’m not referring to the androids in the show. Well, not all the androids in the show. Some are drone-like and some have personality like our main android protagonist, Dorion. I’m referring to J. J. Abrams’s production company, the one that brought us Alias, Lost, Fringe, the Star Trek reboot, etc. In other words, the show has real possibility of continuing to be awesome.
Dynamic Duos
Karl Urban. Michael Ealy. They fight crime and make quips. Do we need another reason to watch?
Supporting Cast is pretty damn good
Minka Kelly from The Roommate Friday Night Light Fame and LiLi Taylor from, well, so much awesome stuff that I could fill an entire post about her are both part of the cast.
Cop Shows
If my addiction to Law and Order says anything about me, is that I love crime-fighting shows. Even better, if my addiction to Fringe or X-Files says anything about me, is that I love shows with a mixture of crime and the unexplainable.
Conclusion? Good things can happen during mid-season hiatuses and one of those things being Almost Human. Are you watching??
