After watching last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, I found myself lost in an Elena/Stefan reverie. Sure, I’ve been outed on this blog for my pro-Stefan leanings, but I do enjoy some smexy Elena/Damon sexy times.

**Slowly regains speech and typing abilities** So, um, where was I? Oh yes, on the latest episode of the Vampire Diaries (Spoilers ahead), Stefan has vamp amnesia after having his brain scrambled a bit. He, of course, has an instant connection with Elena. She walks him through how they first met in hopes of him remembering while the audience gets the swoony feels remembering TVD of yesteryear. Seeing their chemistry, I was inspired to rewatch the pilot. Well, that was the original intention (as I am now on episode 10). And I’m noticing all sorts of interesting details in the rewatch. Let’s discuss.

Gravity
Not only did the writers get the details down of Elena and Stefan meeting, but they use the SAME music when Stefan goes in for the kiss. My heart melted and then I hated Elena a bit.

How can you not be a little more team Stefan after seeing that gut wrenching scene? Also, why is Elena such a damn tease? HARLOT, I SAY.
Paul Wesley’s Abs
DAMN. We should all pay homage to the glory that is Paul Wesley’s Abs. Wasn’t this a trending topic before? I feel as though we need to bring it back into present day vernacular (as opposed to that of 4 years ago.) All men should be rated against Paul Wesley’s Abs. For example: “He was pretty fit, but he’s no PWA.” ” How how do I look on a scale from 1 to Paul Wesley’s Abs?”
The Besties
Season one had Caroline being super shallow. Harder for me to ship Caroline and Stephen at this point. That’s right, I also do a little Staroline shipping (man, when can we stop melding people’s names together? DAMN YOU, BENIFFER!)
However, before I go on a Staroline tangent, there was Matt and Caroline who stole some really sweet moments on the show early on.
And while I’ve never been a huge Bonnie fan (the witch is dead, ya’ll!) at least Bonnie and Caroline understand the show’s OTP and not approve of Damon. Remember Damon used to be BAD BAD BAD.
The rewatch of season 1 has led me to the following conclusion:
Stefan and Elena will get back together!
Why else would the show remind us of how sweet Stelena is together and inspire me to rewatch the good times? Plus there’s the whole apparent destined to be together throughout time thing as doppelgangers. You know how it goes.
So yeah, I see what you’re doing there, Vampire Diaries and I like it.
