That’s right, guys. Original estimates on the airdate for Outlander on Starz were March or April of 2014, but the reports since New York Comic Con say that it will most likely be summer. That means August 2014, y’all.
Diana G even confirmed it earlier in October on her supercomputer the Compuserve forum.
I know that she’s right of course. They just started filming, 16 episodes is a VERY hefty order, and we want them to have ample time to do their best, post-SDCC will be better for ratings, etc. etc. etc. I even thought April was a strange time for a show with a 16 episode order anyway. But NO JAMIE AND CLAIRE UNTIL SUMMER???????
I forlornly updated my Google calendar alerts, called the printer to change my engraved premiere party invitations, and wept for the early summer months when there will be no Game of Thrones and still no Jamie Fraser. But it’s possibly a little unhealthy for me to grieve alone. So, I thought you all might want to go through the grieving process with me.

Denial
The first time you saw a random tweet intimating Outlander was coming Summer 2014.
Isolation
The frantic internet sleuthing you undertake alone to try to disprove this egregious rumor.
Anger
Thinking of all those hot summer months with no DVR’d episodes to watch and re-watch (and your lonely tumblr dashboard with nothing but manips from production stills instead of awesome gifs)
Bargaining
That moment when you start thinking of whatever you can to help speed production along, like offering to be script supervisor since you know the story better than you know your name, or offering to mail your grandma’s muffins to Kraft services or giving Ron Moore your firstborn for a ritual sacrifice.
Depression
When someone sends you the link to Diana’s confirmation, and you just sit and stare at the MacBook that has betrayed you.
Acceptance
Let me know when you get there.
