Ok, so for explanations sake, let’s take the characters of Twilight, add in the director from Mean Girls and the screenwriter from Heathers and put it in the world of the Vampire Academy movie and see what we get — Alice is a vampire sent to a vampire style Hogwarts where there is also a Renesmee like (half human) half-muggle Bella who has to protect her from the baddies. Of course there are some terrible lunch room / clique style shenanigans and someone will probably yell “WHAT IS YOUR DAMAGE HEATHER ALICE?” and “GROW UP BELLA! BULIMIA’S VAMPIRE’S ARE SO 2009!” Ok, maybe this analogy doesn’t work at all because the story of Vampire Academy is way better than that, but if someone wants to write a Twilight/Heathers crackfic with this storyline, then YOU’RE WELCOME! The Weinstein Company launched a special sweepstakes for the upcoming film adaptation VAMPIRE ACADEMY: BLOOD SISTERS. Fans can enter the contest starting today through June 26th, with one grand prize winner receiving an exclusive, once in a lifetime trip to the set of the film to meet the cast and crew. The prize package will include airfare and accommodations for four days in London, a one-day set visit, a flip camera to document the experience, and a tour of London. One hundred other first place winners will also receive a poster autographed by the cast.
Based on the New York Times bestselling book series by Richelle Mead, which has sold over eight million copies to date, VAMPIRE ACADEMY: BLOOD SISTERS will star Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, Danila Kozlovsky, Gabriel Byrne, Sarah Hyland, Joely Richardson, Cameron Monaghan, Sami Gayle, Claire Foy and Ashley Charles. Mark Waters (MEAN GIRLS) is directing the project with a screenplay by Daniel Waters (HEATHERS). The film is currently in production and is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2014.
