While most of you are probably staring at the door, waiting for the receptionist to stroll in carrying your dozen red roses with the special crystal vase (because you’re worth the up charge) from your special someone, I’m likely day dreaming about true love. And since I was raised by television, my idealism stems from certain couples on TV.
Greatest TV Couples According to Me
Clair and Cliff Huxtable
The Cosby Show was an early favorite of mine. The family wasn’t perfect, the kids weren’t perfect, Cliff possibly had a food hoarding issue, but they loved each other. Plus, who could resist Cliff and Clair slow dancing in the living room of their Brooklyn brownstone?
Second runner up in the Cosby family is Rudy and Bud.
Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky
Full House was my favorite show of the TGIF lineup and watching the Jesse-Becky romance bloom through the seasons warmed my cold, cold heart. Uncle Jesse could have come straight out of Jersey with his coiffed hair and coveralls and Becky was any downtown boy’s uptown dream.
Have Mercy.
Kelly Taylor and Herself
Oh 90210, how I loved thee. The summer episodes at the Beach Club were always my favorite. 90210 played out the love triangle between Kelly, Brandon and Dylan. In the end Kelly chose herself. You go girl!
Cut to several years later and Kelly Taylor is still alone. Whoopsies…maybe she should have just picked one.
Chandler and Monica
Oh FRIENDS. I know the episodes are in syndication and you can find them on at least 5 difference channels at a give time, but I still miss them so. I can relate most situations in life back to a FRIENDS episode so it’s no wonder that Chandler and Monica are one of my favorite couples. I love when awkward people with fun quirks get together.
This relationship was destined ever since Monica accidentally chopped off Chandler’s pinky toe. That’s true love, yo.
Summer and Seth
Confession: Unlike my That’s Normal counterparts, I was never really into The OC. However, I do recall an episode where Summer dresses up like Wonder Woman for Seth because he likes Comic Books and then the couple went LARPing together. Okay, maybe that last part didn’t happen, but these two were really cute.
Doesn’t that image just give you nerdy tingles all over? I may be inspired to put it on my Netflix queue.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Lovers. Let’s celebrate by posting your favorite TV couples in the comments (pictures are always welcome!)
