Julie’s Songs for Spring

in Music on 04/26/19 by Julie Leave a Comment

Last week, Nikki broke down what she’s watching, doing, and eating for Spring. Bonus points if she does all three at the same time. Spring means longer days, better weather (at least here in California), and opened windows! And do you know what opened windows mean? Blasting your favorite music.

Here’s just some of the songs that will be on heavy rotation in my house this spring.

P!nk – “Walk Me Home”

Hands down, P!nk is one of my favorite artists of all time. She’s brazen, unapologetic yet empathetic, and has the vocal range to emotionally and aurally kick asses. If you have yet to see her in concert, do yourself a favor and make that your top priority. Life will thank you.

Just a few weeks ago, the singer released her new single “Walk Me Home” and it has become my entire life. The song has everything you could want in a P!nk song: the stomping beat, the soaring vocals, and the lyrics that put to words what we are all feeling in these trying times.

Walk me home in the dead of night
I can’t be alone with all that’s on mind
So say you’ll stay with me tonight
‘Cause there is so much wrong going on outside

Blast this NOW.

Billie Eilish – “when the party’s over”

Remember when you were 17 years old, and you would journal your feelings? Chances are, if you read that journal today – that’s if you didn’t burn it in a sacrificial fire – you would be second-hand embarrassed by your younger self and rightly so. Billie Eilish is the inner voice you wish you had during those formative years.

The seventeen year old singer and songwriter released her full album When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? earlier this year, filled with songs about heartbreak, self-empowerment, and even mental health. Her voice is haunting, raw, addicting, and no where is that talent showcased more than on “when the party’s over.” Prepare for the goosebumps…

Whatever New Music Taylor Swift is About to Release on April 26th

On April 13th, Taylor Swift took to Instagram and posted this…

And everyone lost their damn mind.

What’s happening on April 26th? Is she releasing new music? Is this an engagement ring from Joe Alywn?

Since then, TSwift has released daily teasers and here’s what we know:

1. The first single will be “Me,” a duet with Panic! at the Disco’s Brandon Urie, and what I’m hoping is a diss track for Katy Perry, Kanye West, and my high school nemesis. You know who you are.

WELL GUYS it's almost midnight and my new song “ME!” featuring @brendonurie of @panicatthedisco will be out. In other news, the VIDEO will be out too and I can’t wait to watch live with you (and answer some questions) as it premieres on @YouTube 🎥😺 https://t.co/YImpUXvEVQ pic.twitter.com/lOy7biUgbA

2. She clearly has embraced pastels with her posts looking like a sponsored Kate Spade ad.

3. Taylor Swift still believes in the power of rose gold.

4. I’m hoping that this is a Taylor Swift cruiser bike collection collaboration with Schwinn, called Schwift.
