I don’t have to tell you what the highlight of that trailer was. But I’m going to anyway, because this little guy deserves all the credit he can get: BABY GROOT!
With his rage and the little outfit. How does he even get those tiny clothes? Does Rocket make them for him?!
And his big eyes.
And the “I am Groot”
As cute as Baby Groot is, Rocket Raccoon has always been my favorite, and his exchanges in this trailer reminded my why. Poor guy just wants to make it through the day without being blown up, is that really so much to ask for? His frustration with everything and his sarcastic saltiness is so me. I think we see the world in the same way, Rocket and I.
The two of them together though, is perfection. Baby Groot/Rocket Raccoon 2020. (Let’s be real, saying “I am Groot!” over and over agin still makes more sense than anything Trump has ever said.)
Drax is fantastic too, with his screaming up into the air and his hysterical laughter right in Peter’s face.
The trailer isn’t very big on plot details, and apart from “fighting squid-y alien monster things,” it’s unclear exactly what the movie is going to be about or how the new characters are going to fit in. So far all we know is that Peter Quill is going to be looking for his father. In all honesty is doesn’t really matter what the story is going to be, because the main thing that made the first movie such a success was the chemistry between the characters. As I’ve stated in several of the other Marvel posts that I’ve done, I’m not a comic book fan. For those that are, I’m sure they can look at the trailer and pick out lots of little connections and possible clues. The rest of us can be confident that the Summer 2017 movie season is going to start off with something that we’re all going to love.
