Thanksgiving is a day of contemplating and celebrating all the things in our lives we’re thankful for. While our normal posts are full of drool worthy guys, there are others out there that we Google that affect our lives on a daily basis for many different reasons. Today we’re sending our thanks to them.
Pix: There probably isn’t much that needs to be said here. This man has single-handedly changed my mind on guys with long hair. Assuming the guys have his face and his body and are dressed like Thor.
NM: Thank you for your music that can pretty much match whatever mood I’m in and put me in a creative zone. Plus the above quote is one of my personal mottos. (Also for that almost smirk.)
Pix: I had to think if I had read a male author in the last year. (So many good female authors in my Kindle right now!), but how could I forget this man. If you’re up for some good spell-slinging modern fantasy, this is your man. He is every bit the geek his readers are and the sci-fi/fantasy/gamer heart is all over his books. RUN and check out The Dresden Files, now, (plus Spike narrates the audio-books, which is full of win)
Pix: Chef Eric is the executive chef at Spago in Las Vegas. Hubs and I celebrated our 19th Anniversary there last summer and the foodgasms this man can provide are earth-shattering. He’s also super adorable. And French. Which might be the same thing.
NM: Thank you for The Song of Ice and Fire, the best book series I’ve ever read, even if it’s been a frustrating 9 years of anxiously waiting for the fates of all my favorite characters. (Tyrion better live!) Your books were the first I read that made me seek out the fan base following them, and through that I met a number of really cool people who understand how obsessive those books can become and that’s normal.
NM: The true genius behind both Doctor Who and Sherlock. Thank you for
giving me something to talk to my husband about providing hours of speculation and anticipation for both shows. For showing the world how brilliant both Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch are.
We haggled over a few of these guys, but there are two we both had to thank together..
NM: Thank you for giving me the past summer of bonding with my daughter while we watched the entire series of Buffy. Also for showing her that tiny blondes can kick-ass. Not to mention Firefly, The Avengers, and S.H.I.E.L.D. Which continues our bonding sessions.
Pix: Thank you Joss for Firefly, which is still a weekly, if not daily part of my life, My go-to “background” show, and Serenity makes for a good movie night. Also, the Avengers, thank you for making what’s become a favorite film franchise even more awesome.
NM & Pix: Thank you for brooding, smiling, the hand porn, making that grungy homeless look work, yet still being able to rock a suit like no other, and for giving the most adorkable interviews ever. Mostly thank you for bringing Pix and I together and leading us to LTR and ultimately here where all our little quirks, obsession, fangirl rants and raves are accepted and understood because everyone here knows That’s Normal.
Last of all we’re both thankful for the guys in our lives that we don’t have to Google; our husbands and sons. Who put up with our Googling of other guys and often share our geeky obsessions or at least humor us when we go on about them.
