A Loki Movie? Yes, Please!

I got on the twitters the other morning to make a wistful lamenting tweet about how I am finally going to start on my second full re-read of Twilight saga. (I finally bought the books! Very exciting, I know, and only $14 for 3 of them at Powell’s!) Instead I see that @stonebumchum is chatting me up about some Loki movie, and any thoughts of SMeyer rereads go right out the window.

A LOKI MOVIE?!!!!

As a rational human, I knew I had to investigate further before squee-ing in my coffee shop as I got my 12oz to go, so naturally I first went to That’s Normal. NOTHING BUT COOKIE MONSTER! I moved to the search engine on my phone and it called up something about a petition. Yes, people, a petition for a Loki movie. This raises several questions…

People do petitions for giant budget films? Do they EVER gain leverage this way?
Wasn’t Thor entirely about Loki? I mean, that was MY takeaway from that film.
ZOMG IS THIS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN?!

According to ComicBook.com, the petition has already reached 11,000 signatures (it was only at 10,000 when they started writing the article). I looked just now and it’s over 21,000! More curiously, people keep talking about Thor 2. When did Thor 2 come out? Why didn’t anyone tell me?!! (whines unattractively)

Anyway, if you’ve read my IRL FanFiction about Tom Hiddleston (or any Tom article from Apr 2011), you’d know that he signed on for six films with the franchise, so, you know, having one especially about Loki wouldn’t be out of his contract. And who knows, maybe Cookie Monster will be taken hostage in it… something about delayed gratification?
