We talk a lot about JGL here at That’s Normal, but for me, I’m always reminded of my favorite so awesomely bad, it’s good movie, 10 Things I Hate About You. I submit to you, that if you haven’t watched it recently, go find the movie and watch again. This adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew is a fantastic modern (well, it was the late 90s, lots to laugh about) take with some of Hollywood’s brightest.
We have Miss Save The Last Dance herself, Julia Stiles, the uber talented Heath Ledger (RIP), the super Alex Mac, Larisa Oleynik and her once a upon a time, 3rd Rock from the sun, boyfriend, Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
And how can we forget Kat’s sonnet that won over Heath Ledger’s love and forgiveness. I bet one of our readers have this gem framed on a wall next to an Anne Geddes calendar.
This movie was not all witty repartee, but great life lessons:
And what other movie can claim to have a dancing and singing Heath Ledger? This is pure gold. (Anyone else try to block A Knight’s Tale from their memory?)
A strict father, but armed with sarcasm and sass:
This could be the best use of Allison Janney in film or TV to date with her never-ending quest for throbbing member synonyms.
For your enjoyment, the trailer:
This makes me nostalgic for the late 90s — Baby-tees, flare jeans, midriffs, bubble gum pop…I’m home.
Which awesomely bad, but so good film is your favorite?
